Jonathan Yule is a wildlife, sporting and landscape painter working in both oil and watercolour. He is self taught and began his painting career in 1980 following an encouraging meeting with Sir Peter Scott whose work had been a strong influence for many years. Jonathan's early work reflected his love of wildfowl and the Essex coast where he had spent his boyhood.
Jonathan has exhibited all over the UK and his work is widely collected both here and internationally. Commissions, particularly of grouse moors, have kept him very busy.
Over the years he has travelled widely with Catalonia, Lapland, Canada, Iceland and Kenya fuelling his love of wild places and the abundant wildlife to be found there.
Jonathan is a keen shot, stalker, fisherman and beagler, strongly believing in the vital understanding and cooperation between hunting and conservation. His work as a painter of landscape and wildlife illustrates the inextricable link between habitat and diversity of species.
